We are delighted to announce that our film project has received a generous grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC /ʃɚk/). Not only will this support provide us with funds to complete our documentary, but we are honoured to have the official backing of this prestigious national research organization.

Receiving this grant is a huge vote of confidence for our production team and this support from SSHRC will enable us to make sure our film is of the highest possible quality. Our goal remains to share the art of conlanging with the widest possible audience, from academics interested in language, to conlangers looking to learn more about their colleagues, to the general public, who may still be wondered what exactly a “conlang” is and why it has any relevance to them.

To complement this generous backing we’ll be seeking crowd-funded support though an organized campaign beginning in August of 2015. Support collected through crowd-funding will help us with project costs such as legal fees and marketing activities that cannot be covered by the generosity of SSHRC.

We remain energized and excited about all of the amazing individuals we are encountering through this journey and the way that this film is expanding as we progress day by day.

Thank you most sincerely for your ongoing attention and support and be on the lookout for exciting things to come later in August and beyond!

Christine-Schreyer—Christine Schreyer, Executive Producer
